In DAT High School's most recent ECE, students got an up-close and personal look at the east Denver Eruv from Yakov Watkins. Students got to learn the halachot behind building an eruv, as well as the process of creating an eruv. After learning the halachot and process, students boarded the bus to take an eruv tour, where they viewed tricky parts of the eruv (such as behind the new fire station). Once they finished visiting various locations throughout the eruv, students went to EKAR farm where Mr. Howie Shapiro, the eruv fixer, spoke about the reasoning behind excluding the farm from the eruv. Throughout the farm part of the ECE, students went to go sit shiva for Mark Brooks, Aaron Brooks' father. At the end of the ECE students went to Baskin Robins to pick up pints of ice cream to enjoy back at school.
