Jacob and Shmuli learn safety skills from our guide, Jim Halfpenny, as they cross a river. This was a great learning experience during our Wednesday hike. Everyone crossed safely, Baruch Hashem!
Settling in on the bus on the way back from Thermopolis, (our quick stop over between Yellowstone and Denver) we are in for an exciting ride back home!

Yellowstone National Park - 2015
This year on Fall Immersion we visited the beautiful Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming and Montana. From wolf watching to exciting discoveries, this Immersion was enjoyed by all! Please enjoy a slideshow of some of our Immersion highlights (prepared by Avi Cohen) and a summary of our trip itinerary below.
Sunday
On Sunday we woke up bright and early for a bus ride straight to Yellowstone. Between teacher led activities (bonding, Torah/Science connections, and more) and yoga breaks with Dr. Kramer, the ten hour trip on the bus went by quickly.
Monday
We spent Monday touring the variety of geothermal features in Yellowstone National Park. The different gysers and hot springs were absolutly beautiful!
Tuesday
We woke up early on Tuesday to go search for wolves in the park. To our amasement, after a few stops, we finally saw a group of wolves. We took turns peering through binoculars and observing these beautiful mammals.
Wednesday
On Wednesday, we split up ourselves up into four groups: Discovery, Adventure, High Adventure, ad Extreme Adventure. Each group spent the day hiking through Yellowstone National Park. This time also gave us the opportunity to get to know each other in smaller groups of students. We are all so tired after our long day of hiking!
Thursday
We spent our morning at our Service Learning project. In order to give back to the national park, we used saws, axes, and other tools to construct bumpers. These bumpers will prevent cars from hurting wildlife. After Service Learning, we got back on the bus and headed to our midway stop, Thermopolis.
Friday
After a night in Thermopolsis, we headed back home. We arrived back in Denver in time to unpack and get ready for Shabbat.
Thanks for a great immersion!
